Peru Trek Packing List | (16 images)
Packing light will be the key to the comfort of this trip. However, I will be packing for a variety of conditions - hiking through rain showers (wet), trekking through cloud forests/jungles (warm), climbing up mountain sides (cool/sunny) and sleeping through chilly nights (cold). By dressing in layers, reusing clothing over several days and relying on synthetic fabrics; I will be trying to minimize weight and prepare for the worst of conditions. Luckily, I'll be able to leave my "civilian" clothing at a hotel in Cuzco and the outfitters will be hiring porters to carry the tents and food, to setup/break camp and to cook our dinners and boil our water. What I will need to carry are my own clothing, snacks, camera gear and sleeping bag - and anything I need for the 4-5 days on the trail.
Here's what I'll be packing in my 55 liter NorthFace Skareb backpack, in addition to my 32 liter NorthFace Neutron daypack.
